PSTN Control

PSTN means Public Switched Telephone Network. It is one kind of telephone

system which uses the copper cable to transmit analog sound. PSTN is also known

as POTS (Plain Old Telephone System).

This page allows you to change the prefix digits to dial one PSTN phone call. If your

device is on the PSTN mode, it is not necessary for you to set the prefix digits for the

PSTN phone calls.

Conditions for the PSTN

The following conditions indicate that the VoIP phone has been changed to PSTN

mode:

z while the IAD is powered off

z while the IAD cannot register with or reach the SIP Server

z while user dials prefix digits

z while user dials PSTN phone numbers including emergency call (FXO function,

refer to the section of “Definition of FXS and FXO”)

z while PSTN call incoming

Conditions for the VoIP

The following conditions indicate that the VoIP phone has been changed to VoIP

mode:

z while PSTN call terminated

z while SIP sever is reachable and is registered successfully

Note: Only Phone 1 port can act as a PSTN relay. So if the wireless IAD

loses power only Phone1 can make calls using your landline telephone

company
